Between the 19th and 23rd of May the class 4AI has been to London. The cultural trip included a guided tour on the first day where important sights of London were visited. Such sights are the Buckingham Palace, St. James Park with a variety of animals including ducks, squirrels and parrots, The National Gallery at Trafalgar Square and last but not least, the iconic red telephone booths near Westminster Abbey.
On the following day, the class walked near the Thames River from their motel to the Tower of London. The Museum of London was visited next and afterwards the students had free time to explore London by themselves. Students spread all across the city to see places that are famous, like Kings Cross and its Platform 9 3/4. In addition, the students also tried some food which is well-known in London, like Five Guys Burger, Papa John’s Pizza or Chipotle Burrito.
Afterwards, the students met at Docklands to explore it. On the next day, the students paid a visit to the Science Museum and saw spectacular exhibits such as rockets, a supercomputer and planes. After the visit, the students had free time to see more iconic places like Chinatown, Hyde Park and Harrods.
In the afternoon the Sky Garden view was enjoyed by the students. After Sky Garden, the students had the opportunity to further explore the city. Some even watched John Wick 3 at the cinema! On the second last day, the HMS Belfast was visited and then the students had the chance to once again further discover the city with a city rally. Sights that are not located in the centre of London but are well-known were visited. Those include the Financial District, Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare’s Globe, St. Paul’s Cathedral and many more. On the last day, the students were given the opportunity to explore the city for the last time and they made the most of it. The flight back to Vienna was fast without any major incidences. All in all, a successful trip!
